WhatsApp message prices by country

WhatsApp message fees are paid directly to Meta, not to WaCRM — WaCRM applies 0% markup. Prices are billed per delivered message since 1 July 2025, vary by the recipient's country and the message category (Marketing, Utility, Authentication, or Service), and change periodically, so always check Meta's own current rate card before relying on a number for a business decision.

Updated

Meta has billed WhatsApp Business Platform messages per delivered message, rather than per 24-hour conversation, since 1 July 2025. Four message categories exist — Marketing, Utility, Authentication, and Service — and most markets price Utility and Authentication the same, with Service billed at the same rate once a number is past its free tier (see the free service messages guide for that allowance).

Rate card (USD per delivered message)

What changes the price you pay

  • Category — a template message you send (Marketing, Utility, Authentication) is priced differently from a free-form Service reply you send inside an open 24-hour conversation window.
  • Recipient’s country — the rate is set by where the customer’s number is registered, not where your business is.
  • Delivery, not sending — you are billed when Meta confirms delivery, not simply for sending.
  • Click-to-WhatsApp ads — a conversation that starts from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad opens a 7-day window where Marketing, Utility, Authentication and Service messages are free (AI-platform “Meta Business Agent” messages are still charged inside that window).

How this shows up on your WaCRM bill

It doesn’t — WhatsApp message fees never appear on your WaCRM invoice. Meta bills your WhatsApp Business Account directly, using the payment method you add at Meta. Your WaCRM subscription is a separate, fixed monthly fee for the inbox, AI assist and automation software.

Frequently asked questions

Does WaCRM add any markup to these prices?

No. WaCRM charges 0% markup on WhatsApp messages. You pay Meta directly, at Meta's own published price, through the payment method on your WhatsApp Business Account.

Which category does an order confirmation fall into?

Order and delivery updates sent to a customer who already has an order with you are typically Utility messages. A promotional broadcast is Marketing. A one-time passcode is Authentication. A free-form reply inside the 24-hour window is Service.

Are these prices guaranteed to be accurate?

They are a third-party rate card cross-checked against Meta's own pricing page as of the date on this guide. Meta can change prices; always confirm on Meta's own documentation before making a pricing decision.
